What do you mean "withhold" 4 gallons of water? Aquasana® filters DO NOT store any water. All filtration is done on demand.
Aquasana® filters "distil" water??? Where did you get that? It's absolutely NOT TRUE. Aquasana® water filter filters water by selective filtration. They remove contaminants with coconut shell carbon and BASF ATS Sorbent Medium, an ion exchanger with high specificity for 2+ kations, such as lead and other heavy metals. They leave trace minerals in. It has nothing to do with distilation whatsoever.
